Following this forward is a listing, by name, of accidental deaths as reported in Pinellas County, Florida Newspapers.

This list was extracted from a typed carbon copy of several volumes of a Works Project Administration (WPA) 2865.
This collection is presently housed at St. Petersburg Public Library.

There is one listing, KALAMAKIS, for which the newspaper date was not extracted. The newspaper dates range from
1901 to 1938 with one listing for 1949. The 1949 date may possibly be a typographical error and is probably 1939.

Only those listings which had names of the victims were extracted. Not all of those listed died in Florida or were
Florida residents. The extraction work was performed by Linda (Attebery) Carpenter in 1993. The database was
donated to and is now the property of Pinellas Genealogy Society, Inc.

HOW TO READ THE INDEX:

1. If there is a number in parenthesis (i.e. (28)), this indicates the age of the victim, if known.
2. The accident type (if known) is listed in the Accident Type column.
3. The Newspaper Date is shown as a numerical date listing in the following format: Month/Day/Year
4. The Newspaper Name is coded. The following is a breakdown of the newspaper’s full name:
CS = Clearwater Sun (no longer in print)
IND= Evening Independent (no longer in print)
