The Pinellas Genealogy Society’s (PGS) Local Resource Guide (2020 update) is your gateway to information as you research your family history. It is intended as a handy reference to the documentary and institutional resources you will find useful as you pursue your genealogical research. In addition to libraries and other cultural institutions that house the collections, you will find information about the mutual interest associations and societies that support your interests. Links to relevant online databases are also found here.

The Resource Guide is organized by physical location, beginning with the PGS and its home base, the Largo Public Library.  Expanding our focus outwards, we next highlight the resources found throughout greater Pinellas County, including libraries, genealogy and historical societies, museums and educational centers, funeral homes and cemeteries, and the repositories of vital records.  The final section lists selected sources of information for Pinellas County history and genealogy that are located outside Pinellas County, including state records and archives, as well as Internet databases of interest to genealogy researchers.

The information contained in the Resource Guide is current as of January 2020.  It is expected that contact information such as websites and telephone numbers will change. If you are aware of any information that needs to be updated, please contact the PGS via email at info@pinellasgenealogysociety.com or the Genealogy Center Help Desk at the Largo Public Library (727-586-7410). Any suggestions for improvements to the materials provided also are encouraged.
