Online attendees will join us to watch via Zoom and to ask questions during the Q&A sessions through chat or on camera.
All attendees will receive handouts for the seminar (paper or electronic) and links to recordings afterwards.

Author of the bestselling book, Research Like a Pro: A Genealogist’s Guide, Diana Elder, AG® will appear live and in-person at the Pinellas Genealogy Society Education seminar on Saturday, 28 Feb 2026. The event will be presented both in-person at the Largo Public Library and online via Zoom.
Diana is an Accredited Genealogist, author, and speaker with 22 years of research experience. Her area of expertise is the United States Gulf South Region. A graduate of Brigham Young University, Magna Cum Laude, with a bachelor’s degree in education, she applies her passion for teaching to genealogy. She holds credentials through ICAPGen (International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists). She also created Research Like a Pro study group and e-course to guide researchers through the RLP process. Diana is a member of the National Genealogical Society, the Utah Genealogical Society, and the Association of Professional Genealogists. During this day-long event, Diana will give four presentations that will offer something for everyone regardless of their experience. The presentations are:

(1) Same Name Evidence Analysis
(2) Ancestors Lives in Small Bites
(3) Practical Approach for AI
(4) Elusive Southern Ancestors
In addition to Diana, two popular speakers will present after the lunch break. Taneya Koonce will speak on “Internet Archive” and Debbie Wilson Smyth will present on “Befuddled by the Records.” The breakout speakers will also present both in-person and online.
On the day of the event, the library doors and the Zoom meeting will open at 8:00 AM (ET) with the first presentation kicking off at 9:00 AM. A conference booklet, including presentation handouts, will be available to all registrants. All participants who provide their email address will also get a link to all the seminar recordings.
The PGS education seminar is a highlight for both members and guests. Novice researchers and experienced genealogists alike will find valuable tips and tricks.
